Southern Guilford kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Southeast Guilford Falcons, falling 44-6. The Storm just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row dating back to last season.
Southern Guilford wouldn't let Southeast Guilford keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Travis Covington, Ibrahim Barrie, and Chris Simmons picked up one apiece. Covington also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making seven total tackles.
Alexander Marsh had an outrageously good game for Southeast Guilford as he rushed for 34 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Eric Gladney also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Southern Guilford is taking a road trip to challenge Providence Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Guilford, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Dudley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
