Basketball Recap: Maroa-Forsyth Takes a Loss

Maroa-Forsyth was the 48-34 winner over Rochester when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans came up short against the Rochester Rockets on Wednesday, falling 79-54. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-25.

Jack Melton had a dynamite game for Rochester, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points. What's more, Melton also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Khordell Gregory, who posted ten points and five steals.

Maroa-Forsyth's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Rochester, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maroa-Forsyth will head out to square off against New Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maroa-Forsyth is facing New Berlin at the right time seeing as New Berlin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Rochester, they are taking a road trip to challenge Columbia at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
