Baseball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it four. They lost 14-3 to the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans. That's two games in a row now that the Bluestreaks have lost by exactly 11 runs.

As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 11 runs or more this season.

For Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]'s part, Kahle Lee was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Lee a new career-high. Myles Watson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martinsville will face off against Mulberry Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they will challenge Arcola at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Purple Riders will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
