Basketball Recap: Chief Paul Memorial Drops Highest Score of Season Against Kongiganak

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Chief Paul Memorial ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past the Kongiganak Wolverines with a 63-59 victory. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Kongiganak lost, don't look at Sam Lewis. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. Lewis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Beaver, who put up 12 points.

Chief Paul Memorial's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Kongiganak, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Kwigillingok the next time they take the court. Chief Paul Memorial will head out to face Kwigillingok at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, while Kongiganak will play them later in the day, at 10:50 p.m.
