Softball Game Recap: Sun Valley Vanguards vs. Avon Grove Red Devils

Sun Valley fell victim to Avon Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Red Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Vanguards were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sun Valley dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Avon Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sun Valley will take on Bayard Rustin at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Knights' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Vanguards' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Avon Grove, they will square off against Henderson at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
