Basketball Game Preview: Lithia Springs Lions vs. Rome Wolves

The Lithia Springs Lions will take on the Rome Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Lithia Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They pulled ahead with a 77-76 photo finish over New Manchester on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Jaguar are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Rome had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down the Mustangs 70-53.

Rome has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Lithia Springs, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Lithia Springs suffered a grim 73-53 defeat to Rome in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lithia Springs was down 45-22.
