Baseball Game Preview: Garden City Buffaloes vs. Hays Indians

Garden City is 2-8 against Hays since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Buffaloes will host the Indians at 4:00 p.m. Garden City has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Garden City came up short against Dodge City on Tuesday, falling 12-6.

Garden City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Strecker, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Jonathan Almanza was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hays waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Demons get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Garden City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hays, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Garden City suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Hays in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
