Softball Recap: Wakefield Wolverines vs. East Chapel Hill Wildcats

Wakefield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Chapel Hill Wildcats an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Wakefield, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Dayna Bland was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Bland has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive pitching appearances.
