It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cloverdale can now relate to. They fell just short of the Athenian Owls by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Damian Guerrero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Coby Haug, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Cloverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Athenian, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
