Football Recap: King's Academy Piles Up the Points Against Fremont + How To Watch

King's Academy never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-0 victory over the Fremont Tigers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Tigers are ranked 787th).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to King's Academy's defense and their six sacks. Nathaniel Vargas refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Fremont's side was Justin Turner, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (6.0 for loss).

Special teams was a major factor in the game for King's Academy, racking up 18 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Aaron Duncan, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

King's Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.5 points this season. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

King's Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 22-19 loss against Sacred Heart Prep on the 20th. As for Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 55-0 defeat against De Anza on the 19th.
