Football Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. San Ysidro Cougars

Castle Park is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to take on the San Ysidro Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Castle Park is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Friday, Castle Park took a blow against Olympian, falling 55-13. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 955th, while the Eagles are ranked 399th).

Meanwhile, San Ysidro fell victim to Montgomery and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of the Aztecs. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Aztecs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Castle Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for San Ysidro, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Castle Park couldn't quite get it done against San Ysidro when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 28-17. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
