Recap: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Tornillo Coyotes

Even though the Kermit Yellow Jackets have not done well against the Tornillo Coyotes recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kermit escaped with a win against Tornillo by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52. Winning may never get old, but Kermit sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Diego Juarez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Espino, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.

Kermit is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Tornillo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Alpine the next time they take the court. Tornillo will head out to face Alpine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kermit will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
