Baseball Recap: Northwest's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Northwest can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-7 margin over the Pine Prairie Panthers. The Raiders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st.

Courtlyn Young was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Johnson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Young wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Northwest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Northwest's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Pine Prairie, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Looking ahead, Northwest will head out to take on Ville Platte at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine Prairie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Church Point at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
