South Allegheny blew Keystone Oaks out of the water the last time the pair played, but  on Thursday Keystone Oaks got their revenge. The Gladiators fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of  5-3. The Gladiators' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
 Ava Brown put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Brown wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Carrera Conley, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run.
South Allegheny's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Keystone Oaks, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Allegheny will challenge Shady Side Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Keystone Oaks, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Peters Township  at 4:00  p.m.
