Basketball Recap: Oldham-Ramona/R Comes Up Short

Oldham-Ramona/R and Deubrook squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oldham-Ramona/R had to settle for second. They lost 78-54 to the Deubrook Dolphins. While losing is never fun, the Rutland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Dolphins are ranked 35th).

Oldham-Ramona/R has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. Deubrook is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Oldham-Ramona/R does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deubrook, they will take on Wessington Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
