Football Recap: Morgan County Starts off Right with Win over Warren County

Morgan County had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warren County Screaming Devils 56-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Morgan County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Monfort, who rushed for 118 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. Monfort's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another signal caller making a difference was Davis Strickland, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

Morgan County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Grant Smith and Cad Braswell.

Morgan County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 46-14 win against Putnam County on the 22nd. As for Warren County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-8 loss against Social Circle on the 22nd.
