Poth is 9-1 against Nixon-Smiley since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Poth Pirates will head out to face off against the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Poth is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

On Friday, Poth got the win against Luling by a conclusive 43-17. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Karnes City on Friday, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Poth has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Nixon-Smiley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-17.

Everything went Poth's way against Nixon-Smiley in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Poth made off with a 61-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
