Game recap: Blue Springs gets jump on Blue Springs South in victory

Blue Springs (Mo.) jumped out to an early lead against Blue Springs South (Blue Springs, Mo.) and never looked back on the way to a 35-14 victory on Saturday.

The Wildcats put up 14 points in the opening frame. Blue Springs scored on a touchdown run by Dalvin Warmack and a Wylson Lamb touchdown pass to Darrius Shepherd.

After taking the lead on a Warmack touchdown run in the first quarter, BS led 21-0 at the half.

The Wildcats saw their 21-point halftime lead fall to 14 entering the fourth.



Dalton Brewer made a difference for the Jaguars. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

Warmack played well for Blue Springs in the victory. The junior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 20 touchdowns on the season.

BS came in allowing an average of 20.3 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding Blue Springs South well below its season average of 22.0 points scored per game.

When the two teams played each other last season, Blue Springs came away with a 26-21 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Blue Springs South, which notched a 44-14 victory over Lee's Summit in its previous outing. With the win BS extended its winning streak to three games.

Blue Springs South (4-3) goes up against Lee's Summit North in a Suburban - Gold game matchup next week, while Blue Springs (6-1) locks horns with Raymore-Peculiar also in a Suburban - Gold game.
