Baker dropped down to 14-13 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 14-6 to the Gulf Shores Dolphins. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Hornets, who fell 2-0 when the teams last met back in April of 2024.

As for Gulf Shores, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-11 record this season. The result was nothing new for Gulf Shores, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Gulf Shores' part, they got a massive performance out of Jacob O'Bryan, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. That's the most runs O'Bryan has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Price Stephens, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

Baker and Gulf Shores should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Hornets will challenge Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (82 vs. 234). Meanwhile, Gulf Shores (ranked 34th) will meet Theodore (ranked 245th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
