Cole came tearing into Monday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Young Men's Leadership Academy as they made off with a 61-41 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Young Men's Leadership Academy are ranked 776th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cole was led to victory by Logan Beckstrom and Jayvin Ybarra. Beckstrom went 6-for-15 en route to 19 points along with eight assists and eight boards, while Ybarra went 8-for-14 to rack up 21 points. The dominant performance gave Beckstrom a new career-high in assists. Mackenzie Schonberg was another key player, putting up eight points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Cole was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Young Men's Leadership Academy only posted six assists.

Young Men's Leadership Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Olivarez and Raishaun Conaway. Olivarez posted 15 points and three steals, while Conaway went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points. That was a full 36.6% of Young Men's Leadership Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Cole's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-7. As for Young Men's Leadership Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.

Looking ahead, Cole will square off against Natalia at 6:30 p.m. on February 18th. Young Men's Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
