Football Recap: Lakeland Regional Starts off Right with Win over Governor Livingston

Lakeland Regional had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over the Governor Livingston Highlanders. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Highlanders, too.

A big part of Lakeland Regional's victory came down to the chemistry between Edward Pasznik and his top target Chace Severs. Pasznik threw for 122 yards and one touchdown while Severs picked up 94 receiving yards and one TD. Severs showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Lakeland Regional's run defense was locked in: Governor Livingston could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Severs for the heroic effort on defense: he. Lakeland Regional didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.7.
