Hoopeston and Watseka are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Hoopeston Cornjerkers will head out to square off against the Watseka Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoopeston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

On Saturday, Hoopeston came up short against Westville and fell 61-50. The Cornjerkers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hoopeston might have lost, but man, Brayden Walder was a machine: he went 6 of 14 to rack up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Trenton Montez, who posted seven points in addition to 12 assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Watseka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 43-32 to Salt Fork.

Watseka's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Hoopeston, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Hoopeston came up short against Watseka in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 51-43. Can Hoopeston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
