Softball Recap: Ursuline Academy Takes a Loss

Ursuline Academy fell victim to John Paul II and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Ursuline Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Breen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Ursuline Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5. As for John Paul II, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ursuline Academy will host Bishop Lynch at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Friars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.47 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for John Paul II, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
