             The Valley Center Jaguars will face off against the Ramona Bulldogs at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Ramona took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley Center, who comes in off a win.
 Having struggled with eight  losses in a row, Valley Center finally turned things around against San Pasqual  on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Golden Eagles  20-18. The Jaguars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
  Mykayla Degen went supernova for Valley Center, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also picking up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. Degen also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass.
 Another reason for the win was Valley Center's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department,  Jocelyn Cortez was the leader with two.
 Meanwhile, Ramona came up short against Del Norte on Thursday and fell  32-21. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 490th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 212th).
 Valley Center's victory  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 2-10. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
