Softball Recap: Mahomet-Seymour Wins Going Away Against Urbana

Mahomet-Seymour not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 15-0). Everything went their way against the Urbana Tigers as they made off with an 11-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Rio Casillas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madi White was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Mahomet-Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive games.

Mahomet-Seymour's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Urbana, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mahomet-Seymour will venture away from home to face off against Taylorville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Tornadoes at the right time seeing as the Tornadoes are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Urbana, they will head out to take on Normal Community at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ironmen have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
