Softball Recap: Zion Chapel Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Zion Chapel dropped their record down to 10-13 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 8-0 to the Wicksburg Panthers. The shutout was out of character for the Rebels seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Wicksburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 38-7. Considering they have won 24 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wicksburg's part, Sarah Turvin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Turvin has posted over her last three matches. Dahlia Ganz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion Chapel will square off against New Brockton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wicksburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Yellowjackets have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
