Softball Recap: White Pine Starts off Right with Win over Oasis Academy

White Pine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the Oasis Academy Bighorns as the White Pine Bobcats made off with an 11-0 win.

Gianna Sedlacek made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camden Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Barbosa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Coming up, White Pine will take on Pershing County in a tournament on Saturday. As for Oasis Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Battle Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
