Whitko hasn't had much luck against Peru recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Whitko has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Whitko is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 13-3 to Rochester.

Riley Harman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Whitko is 5-2 when Harman posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-10 otherwise. Easton Grable was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Peru won against North Miami on Saturday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Peru walked away with a 10-6 victory over Northwestern. Winning may never get old, but Peru sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Peru got a big performance out of Gavin Eldridge, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Reis Bellar, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Peru pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Whitko, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whitko has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Whitko might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Peru in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
