Baseball Recap: Palmyra Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Palmyra entered their tilt with Riverside on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Rams. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Rams back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Ian Smith was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Palmyra is undefeated when Smith posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise.

Palmyra's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
