Basketball Game Preview: Birdville Hawks vs. Aledo Bearcats

The Birdville Hawks will take on the Aledo Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Birdville duked it out withArgyle on Tuesday. Birdville came up short against Argyle, falling 50-28. The Hawks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Aledo entered their tilt with Azle on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 45-23 win. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Hornets are ranked 937th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aledo has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Birdville, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.
