Basketball Preview: Bluffton Bobcats vs. James Island Trojans

Bluffton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the James Island Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bluffton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 73-25 win over Colleton County. With Bluffton ahead 40-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Tacoya Heyward continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Heyward is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amirah Brown, who scored 22 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, James Island made easy work of the Cougars on Saturday and carried off a 51-26 victory. Given James Island's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Cougars are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bluffton pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. As for James Island, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Bluffton beat the Trojans 59-50 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was James Island's Andrea Duncan, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bluffton still be able to contain Duncan? There's only one way to find out.
