Volleyball Game Preview: Rancho San Juan Trailblazers vs. Pacific Collegiate Pumas

For the first time this season, Rancho San Juan will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. After both having extra time off, they and the Pacific Collegiate Pumas will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rancho San Juan came up short against Scotts Valley on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rancho San Juan was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Scotts Valley work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Rancho San Juan had strong showings from Austin Valdez, who had 16 digs, and Devin Francisco, who had 29 digs. Francisco has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more digs the last ten times he's played.

Meanwhile, Pacific Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollister.
