Basketball Recap: Southridge Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Southridge and West Linn squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Southridge had to settle for second. They fell 51-42 to the West Linn Lions. The Skyhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

West Linn found their leader in sophomore Kaylor Buse, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. Buse's big performance that morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 22 points. Ayla Arnold was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Southridge's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points over those games. As for West Linn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Southridge nor West Linn have any future games scheduled.
