It's playoff time, and University Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Gridley Bulldogs 70-67. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on six straight.

University Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Pringle, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Pringle has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times he's played. Adam Gire was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points and eight boards.

Pringle wasn't the only one working in the assist department: University Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gridley only nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Gridley lost on Thursday, don't look at Luis Murillo. Despite the final result, he shot 67% from the field en route to 23 points and three steals. What's more, Murillo also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024.
