Baseball Recap: Wake Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Falls Lake

Wake Christian Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Falls Lake Firebirds as the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs made off with a 12-2 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Carter Collins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grayson Durrant, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Trace Turner was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Wake Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wake Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Falls Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
