Basketball Recap: Bethune Bobcats vs. Miami-Yoder Buffaloes
Bethune extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 43-4 loss at the hands of the Miami-Yoder Buffaloes. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-2.
Peyton Killian was Bethune's leading scorer, having posted two points. Killian also led the team in rebounds with six.
As for Miami-Yoder, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. That 39-point margin sets a new team best for them this season.
Miami-Yoder can attribute much of their success to Madison Kragel, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 boards gave Kragel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison McKnight, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bethune will take on Triplains/Brewster at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miami-Yoder, they will square off against Elbert at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
