Volleyball Recap: Gretna East's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Gretna East lost against Pius X back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Griffins fell just short of the Thunderbolts by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to the Griffins' undefeated start to the season.

Grace Scheef paced Gretna East's offense, picking up eight kills. Scheef got some help from Jordyn Levinson and her 25 assists. Finally, Jaelyn Love kept Gretna East's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Kami Wemhoff, who had 16 digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gretna East fell to 5-1. As for Pius X, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Gretna East will head out on the road to face off against Elkhorn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pius X, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Papillion-LaVista on Saturday.
