Basketball Recap: Verndale Comes Up Short

Verndale lost against Pillager back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Verndale Pirates fell 74-61 to the Pillager Huskies.

Verndale's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Pillager, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Verndale will take on Browerville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Browerville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Verndale likes a good challenge. As for Pillager, they will head out on the road to square off against Staples-Motley at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
