Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Service

On Thursday, Grace Christian faced Service in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Grace Christian Grizzlies fell 46-39 to the Service Cougars. The Grizzlies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Service found their leader in sophomore Aryanna Watson, who posted 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Watson has scored at least a third of Service's points.

Grace Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Service, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Grace Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mountain City Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Mountain City Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Service, they and Dimond will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Service is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.
