Basketball Game Preview: Waitsburg Cardinals vs. Garfield-Palouse Vikings

The Waitsburg Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Garfield-Palouse Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waitsburg is looking for their season's first win.

Waitsburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Pomeroy on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Pirates, falling 55-13. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Meanwhile, Garfield-Palouse unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Asotin.

Garfield-Palouse's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Waitsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Waitsburg was taken down by Garfield-Palouse 66-10 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Waitsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
