Softball Recap: Sophia Buckingham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Glenbrook North

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Prairie Ridge, Glenbrook South was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Glenbrook North Spartans a 1-0 shutout. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Addy Hurley's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Glenbrook South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Buckingham, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Glenbrook South picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-13. As for Glenbrook North, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Glenbrook South will venture away from home to take on New Trier at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Trevians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glenbrook North, they will welcome Maine South at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
