Basketball Recap: Providence Catholic Takes a Loss

Providence Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 68-57 to the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan. The Celtics were probably out for revenge after losing 58-44 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Grant Best, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards for Chicago Mt. Carmel. Best is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Providence Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Providence Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Montini Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they will challenge De La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. De La Salle will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Chicago Mt. Carmel surely won't give up without a fight.
