Justin Suarez and Cameron Codio secure win for Bishop Moore

Recap: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Foundation Academy Lions

The Bishop Moore Hornets had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Foundation Academy by a score of 65-53 on Monday. The win was just what Bishop Moore needed coming off of a 76-32 loss in their prior contest.

Bishop Moore was led to victory by Justin Suarez and Cameron Codio. Suarez scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Codio scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Diego Elias, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Foundation Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Basden. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Basden is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Michels, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.

Bishop Moore's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Foundation Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Bishop Moore will be playing at home against Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Howell will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bishop Moore surely won't give up without a fight. As for Foundation Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Orange at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. West Orange is coming into the contest with four straight defeats at home, meaning Foundation Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
