League recap: Wartburg Central wins, gets boost in standings

Wartburg Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in A District 4. The Bulldogs beat Jellico 47-16 earlier in the week.

Oneida extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Coalfield, 21-14. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Sunbright's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jacob Swint has thrown for 256 yards and one touchdown this season, while Chris Blackburn has five catches for 108 yards. Skyler Bunch leads the league in rushing with 703 yards.

A big matchup in A District 4 this week will be when Sunbright takes on Oneida. The Tigers are in fourth place, while Tony Lambert's team is in first place.

The Indians made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,737 from 4,164. The improvement was the result of 21-14 victory over the Yellowjackets last week.
