            For the second straight game, Hueneme will face off against Nordhoff. The Vikings will venture away from home to  face off against the Rangers  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hueneme has nine straight  wins, Nordhoff has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Hueneme made easy work of Nordhoff  and carried off  a  9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Akira Tamura made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 In other pitching news, Hueneme got a great performance from  Steven Hernandez as he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits (and only one walk). Hernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances.

 Back at the plate,  Joseph Pena was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Walter Nickerson was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Hueneme  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters  in three consecutive  matchups.
 Nordhoff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Hueneme, their record now sits at 15-7.
