Baseball Recap: Mount View Comes Up Short

After flying high against Van on Thursday, Mount View came back down to earth. The Golden Knights fell 4-1 to the Webster County Highlanders on Friday. If the Golden Knights were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Highlanders when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mount View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Wright, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Wright is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Webster County, they moved to 10-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mount View will face off against Grundy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Webster County, they will challenge Richwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
