Football Game Preview: Cape Coral Seahawks vs. Mariner Tritons

The Cape Coral Seahawks will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mariner Tritons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cape Coral has now lost nine straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 29.

Cape Coral's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Riverdale on Thursday. They were beaten by the Raiders 45-0.

Meanwhile, Mariner got themselves on the board against Island Coast last Tuesday, but Island Coast never followed suit. They breezed past the Gators to the tune of 32-0. The Tritons haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

One reason for the win was Mariner's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Olivia Hinote was the leader with two.

Cape Coral's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mariner, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Cape Coral beat Mariner 12-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Cape Coral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mariner turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
