Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles Cardinals vs. Hilliard Davidson Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the St. Charles Cardinals take on the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Charles will head out to face Hilliard Davidson after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. St. Charles received a blow as they fell 58-42 to Bishop Watterson. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Eagles are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Hilliard Davidson had to suffer through a 66-39 loss at the hands of Olentangy Orange. The Wildcats have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

St. Charles' defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8. As for Hilliard Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

St. Charles came up short against Hilliard Davidson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 38-30. Can St. Charles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
