Basketball Game Preview: Richwoods Knights vs. South County Stallions

The Richwoods Knights will face off against the South County Stallions at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Richwoods is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Peoria just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 64-48 bruising from the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Lions are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, South County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexandria City.

South County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Richwoods, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
