            Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Chieftains vs. New Lisbon Rockets        
        
		
        
        
            Riverdale won the last time they faced New Lisbon and things went their way  on Saturday too. The Chieftains narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Rockets  2-1.
 The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Riverdale who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25,  15-11.
 Gretjen Buchholz paced Riverdale's offense, picking up five kills. Buchholz got some help from  Riley Kinney and her eight assists.  Abby Tisdale controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
 Despite the  defeat, New Lisbon saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Aria Knee  had 11  digs and two  aces.  Jossi Clark also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.

Riverdale's victory  ended  an  eight-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 10-7. As for New Lisbon,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-9.
 Riverdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  loss against Poynette on the 20th. As for New Lisbon, they have also already played their next matchup,  a  2-0  win against Almond-Bancroft on the 20th.
